How we handle your data

Plain English, no legalese. This policy covers what happens when you visit NetMirror — the information site you\'re reading right now. It does not cover the NetMirror app itself (the app is built by a separate team and has its own privacy practices).

Last updated May 25, 2026

About this policy

We built NetMirror to be a clean, useful information resource about the NetMirror streaming app — installation guides, current working URLs, troubleshooting, FAQ, real user reviews. This site doesn\'t host any video content and isn\'t the app itself.

This privacy policy explains exactly what data we collect when you visit our pages, what we do with it, and what choices you have. We\'ve kept it short, specific and free of marketing-speak.

What we collect

When you visit this site, three categories of data are processed:

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard request metadata — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser user-agent, referring URL. These logs are anonymised and rotated within 30 days.
  • Local-storage state. Your browser stores a couple of UI preferences locally — e.g., which install-guide tab you last opened, whether you\'ve dismissed a notice. This data never leaves your device.
  • Contact form submissions. If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email and message — only to reply to your inquiry.

What we don\'t collect: No third-party analytics SDKs (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, AppsFlyer, etc.), no behavioural tracking, no fingerprinting, no ad-targeting profiles. We never sell, rent or trade data.

How we use it

The data we receive is used for three purposes only:

  • Security & abuse prevention — Cloudflare uses request logs to block DDoS attacks, brute-force attempts and scraper bots.
  • Service reliability — server logs help us debug 404s, broken redirects and slow pages.
  • Replying to your messages — if you contact us, we use your email to reply. We don\'t add you to any mailing list and you won\'t receive marketing.

Cookies & local storage

We don\'t set any tracking cookies. The only browser storage used is HTML5 localStorage for small UI preferences (last-selected tab, dismissed notices). These values stay on your device and are never sent to a server.

Cloudflare may set a security cookie (__cf_bm) that distinguishes legitimate visitors from bots. This is essential for protecting the site and contains no personal information. It expires within 30 minutes of your visit.

Third-party services

We use a small set of third-party services to run this site:

  • Cloudflare — CDN, DNS and DDoS protection. Sees request metadata. Privacy policy →
  • Hosting provider — static-file hosting. Sees request logs.
  • Contact form provider — receives the contact-form submission and relays it to our inbox. We don\'t store form submissions on this site itself.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Mixpanel, Segment, AppsFlyer, or any other behavioural-analytics SDK.

Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

The only situations where we would disclose any data:

  • A valid legal request (court order, subpoena) from a competent authority in our jurisdiction.
  • To investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or violation of these terms.
  • If we were ever acquired or merged, your data would transfer to the successor entity, who would be bound by the same privacy commitments.

Your rights

Under GDPR (EU), CCPA (California) and most modern privacy frameworks, you have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (and ask us to delete server logs containing it)
  • Object to processing
  • Port your data to another service
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, reach us through the contact form — pick "General question" or "Other" as the subject and mention the right you\'re exercising. We respond within 30 days (usually within 48 hours).

Data retention

Server logs rotate every 30 days. Contact-form submissions are retained for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, plus a brief audit period (typically 90 days). After that, they are deleted.

Children\'s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the contact form, email us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date. Minor clarifications may be made silently. Continued use of the site after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
